Letter from Elder Beck

Mom,

So i lied, sorry. Presidente angulo had a change of heart.

Well i am super stoked to be here in juarez. its like 15 minutes from the border, but super safe haha. My new companion is elder king, another american. but he is super cool, a lot more mellow than my last companion. he has 13 months in the mision and before i got here he only had a couple day. We have 2 wards, Juarez and Central. Right now we are just trying to get to know the area and the members. The missionaries before didnt leave us too much work. we only had 2 investigators on monday, and now we have around 12. we have received 45 referrals this week. so now we have a ton of work. Its pretty stressful though, going from knowing the area and the members perfectly to not knowing anything and not have a companion to really teach you the area. But it is super fun. Elder king is awesome, and we are just here to work and find and baptize.

The area is pretty awesome, we have a mcdonalds, burger king, subway, and carls. It is super wierd though cause i was in a really poor area before and it really felt like a different world, but now it feels almost like the united states. The area is ridiculously huge though. Barrio (ward) Juarez is really super tiny but barrio central is like 15 miles long.

To answer you questions about conference, we are going to watch it live at the stake center. But the member that have television can just watch it at the house live as well. There is a room where they play it in english as well.

So the spanish is continuing to get better and better. really just talking and failing and asking people for help or for tips on saying different things really helps. yeah ive been getting a bunch of dear elders. When did you send the last package? the last one took like 3-4 weeks, but this one will probably take a little longer cause it goes to the offices in chihuahua and the they have to send it here to juarez. its about four hours in a bus if you were wondering. If you want to chech out where im living its in el fraccionamiento benito juarez, dont know the address of the house though. but thats like the colony.

Oh and what would be super sweet is if dad and kevin, if they cant figure out what to write me, i would like to hear super cool experiences that they had on the mission, through dear elder. oh and mom could you just send me the letter from the other guys on the mission once a month. i love reading them but i just never have enough time. haha.

The mission is super awesome!!! oh yeah and we had a baptism right before i left to juarez, her name is dayana. we had like a month and a half with her.
