The Fight to Keep Traditional Marriage and Why You Should Care...

There are many reasons for writing today about this again. For starters we have had new development here in California. We found out this morning that the CTA(California Teachers Union) just dropped their hats into the ring as supporters against Prop8. They donated a huge amount of money. For the most part the backers are corporations and not individual people. On our end the supporters are individuals giving of their time and money. In the polls we are ahead but they are hitting it hard. So today I want to give you some back ground on what will happen to you and your family if Prop 8 doesn't pass.

They say all they want is the same rights as the traditional married couples. That is all, not true.

In Mass, where same sex marriage is legal, the following things have happened.
1. Teachers are teaching about same-sex marriage and that there is no difference between that and traditional.
2. They read Second Graders(that's Megan and Britton)a book entitled The King and King. It's about a prince searching for a princess and finding his true love was another prince. When parents were outraged about this and went to the school board. The school officials defended the gay marriage instruction at the behest of gay rights organizations. Parents then appealed to the courts.
3. The courts rejected the parents' pleas for protection of their religious freedoms and parental rights...ultimately concluding that the parents had no rights to receive notice, or even to remove their own children from instruction about gay marriage!
4. Schools will have to also instruct our children during family life curriculum that gay marriage is okay and acceptable.
5.Legal experts agree: mandatory government recognition of same-sex marriage poses a direct threat to the civil liberties of religious Americans who oppose homosexuality and support traditional marriage.

Our personal freedoms to follow our own religious and moral beliefs about traditional marriage are in serious jeopardy. It is no longer acceptable to be tolerant we are having it forced upon us.

6. They will be able to claim discrimination to any one that refusing to marry them, any church that doesn't let them marry could be prosecuted.
In Canada a Priest was targeted for hate crimes for quoting the Bible on marriage.

So please get the word out this has far reaching implications. This will effect all of us. We are constantly asked to be tolerant. Now that is not enough. This is not just about marriage. They will try to tell you that but, the facts are there we can already see the effects of this in Canada and Massachusetts where it is legal. We must stand up and fight. This weekend we will be standing on corners in our area with signs to plead with our communities to vote yes. We don't want to take away there rights. But we also should not be forced to accept this. We must show our support on Election Day. Thanks for listening, this will probably be talked more about in the upcoming weeks. Get the Word Out VOTE YES ON PROP 8...
