Difficult Times, Mean we must be stronger.

I know that I have blogged about this before but, It's getting closer to Election Day. In California we are under attack. We are being asked to put down our values and just be accepting. Well we can't, We must stand up for what is right. Prop 8- for those of you that think it doesn't effect you. Well, guess again. This will change not only the way marriage will be viewed. But if Prop 8 doesn't pass then we will be forced to have this taught in our schools, churches may have to allow same sex marriage to be recognized. These will effect much more than just how marriage is recognized. Our governor in California just VETO a bill that wanted to make there a Gay day and acknowledge it. Which meant that our children would have to learn about this in schools. In California as members we had a broadcast from the church that expressed the importance of the family. We must take a stand. It's not easy doing the door to door but it is necessary. My children have even helped. We have to stand out at this time. We need to let our voices heard. We live in a time where the world would like us to believe that family values aren't important, that the parents can be replaced by daycare, and nannies. Well we as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints know this is not true. It takes parents to raise a child and to teach them wrong from right. The world would like us to believe that it's not black and white. The choices aren't wrong from right. But they are pretty clear. We aren't taking anything away from gay couples. They still will have all the same rights as a married couple. We just want marriage to be recognized as Man and Woman as God intended it to be. We saw a movie on Monday night for Family Night, it was tittled the Express. Now this has nothing to do with our issue at the present day. But an object lesson was used. A bottle was presented and the question was asked, "What kind of bottle is this?" the question couldn't be answered. The comment was made there is no label. This is true in life, it shouldn't matter what the outside looks like we are all the same in our Father in Heavens eyes. We all are the same and some of us have things to deal with in this life and are more difficult than others. Some have tendencies that others don't have to deal with. But that doesn't mean that we over look the issues. We can love the sinner without accepting the sin. This is what Prop 8 is about. We are being asked to be okay with something that goes against our beliefs. We must Stand and help the work. We our being asked help in any way we can. Our church leaders have ask, Have you accepted the Call. Put yourself in the pioneer times. The Prophet has come and asked you to go serve a mission in England for 2 years and leave your family, or you are being asked to pack up and leave your home and friends. You will be traveling across the plains and possible losing your family along the way. But the Prophet has asked. Did you accept? Well, he has asked us to help in any way we can. Have you accepted? What side are you on? I will be asked soon to support my sons and help them make the decision to go on missions. I can't imagine not supporting that. In the same sense I can't imagine not helping this cause also. So if you need more information on the Prop 8 and have friends in California that don't know or aren't registered to vote. Please tell them to register and get out and Vote. For more information go to protectmarriage.com this is important to all of us no matter where you live.

Jewels,

YOU ARE AWESOME!!! What an incredibly well written post. Matt's sister said for her it was like I want to be able to stand before God and say I did all I could do. It sounds like that is what you and your family are doing as well. Way to go! We are praying for everyone involved. May the Lord soften the hearts of the people of California.
Keep it up! Tell Trevor congrats! We are so proud of him.

Thanks for being such a great example! In Arizona we are facing a similar situation. We haven't been asked to go door to door yet, but I'm sure that it would help. Tell anyone you know in AZ to vote YES on 102!!

Wow Juls did you just become a writter. That was well said. I honestly I didnt understand the huge effect it would have on us all until recently. I mean I understand it and all and believe it and would stand up for it but I didnt understand the whole process. Thank you for standing up and doing what is right I wish more people could be like you and stand up and be strong. I love you and am very proud of you!

Hey, good for you for posting something on Prop 8. I guess I should too:) At the broadcast they had a week or so ago, I couldn't believe what they said could be taught in schools to our kids, ugh! Anyway, love the fun posts and the slide show! Great job!
