Hey Mom,
well i have to admit that christmas day was by far the greatest day. i just still can not believe how much everyone has changed. by that i mean tyler, klye, trevor, and megan. it is crazy to think that in just over a year of time they have all changed that much. i could hardly tell who i was talking with.
You know one thing about calling home for me that is special that i think few people have is that when i talk to you and the others that it gives me more of a drive to work in some cases i think that when missionaries talk to their families they get home sick and may for some time feel like they just want to go home and then it takes them some time to get back in to the flow of things, but when i got off the phone after saying good-bye to you and everyone else i did not have a single feeling of home but the determination to proceed and continue working, it almost gives me an extra boost of energy to work that much harder. so thank you for that.
well i too have thought alot about what i said on christmas day and i think that it would be better to come home in October too. i really have no idea way i said what i said i think it just into my mind and i said i think is was because one of the elders that came out with us is going home that day because his military unit leaves for iraq and if he doesn't come home then he will get in to big trouble with the military and i think we got talking about it and how much fun it would be to go home together. but anyways does not matter. i have made the decision and that is that. but I would love to know what you and dad think about the other thing i asked about: the two of you coming out here? i just think it would the coolest thing to show you and dad around the place that i served and because who knows if i or you will ever come back to this place after i come home but it is just a thought, we can even wait 5 months and talk about it next phone call on mothers day. but enough with that haha
well this week has been good my comp and i hit a good 16 lessons in the walls of homes last week and that was great, unfortunately this week we will not be able to get anywhere close to that do to the fact that we have had already 1 and half days plus soon to be 2 and half days of the week taken from us do to new years. but still i think that we have had a lot of success and hope to see even more in the last week of the transfer which is next week. my comp by the way is awesome and we get along very well with each other and man do we laugh alot. it is always a surprise what will be with elder zhlinski. we have had this week not to much success with meetings but as a companionship we have formed great unity and that is one of the greatest things about this transfer. not only have we helped people come unto to christ, be baptized, but we have also formed a friendship that will last a life time. and this i am deeply grateful for and this is also how i can see how the lord definitely knows who we need to serve with and why we need to be with that person with whom we serve. so we hope things continue to progress and to see many miracles in the next few last days of the transfer.
well mom i just want you and the rest of the family to know that i love you. i respect everyone of you and the examples that you have set for me. i also want you to know that i know the savior lives, i know that it is only through him that we can be saved and return to our heavenly father to life with our wife, children and other members of our family. and i am eternally grateful for you, and the ability that we have to be an eternally happy family in the kingdom of god. and i also know that if we just remember the Lord and pray always, he will also be around us to help us and guide us through all the challenges of this mortal probation that we now live in. just remember to look unto him for he is the light and the life of the world, the good Shepard. i love you and wish you a great week and a great day.
love always,
kevin
