Latest Update on Kevin...
Well, it's all done the papers are off. We were told that he could have his call by Thursday June 2. WOW! Now I really have to be strong. We are very excited for him. Tonight everyone is putting down where they think he'll go. It's all very exciting and kinda emotional for MOM. Yes, that would be me. I am so very pleased with this oldest child of ours. He truly is ready to go. He's ready to serve our Father in Heaven. Today was a reality check for us all, that this is very real and very soon. We are all kinda in a fog. There is excitement in the house. But the reality of him going is hitting closer to home. Please don't get me wrong I am very Happy, Excited, Pleased, and looking forward to his excitement over where he will go and when he will leave. But, on the same note, This is our first of four boys to go. Once Kevin goes the rest follow so quickly it's almost more than I can think about. But, as a Mom I am feeling right now a very small glimpse of what our Father in Heaven goes through when he sends one of us here to earth. He sends us here in hopes that we will succeed. In hopes that we will find happiness. And those of us that are lucky enough to be members, that we stick to his plan. Those that aren't, he counts on us to find them and help them get Home. My heart is full I apologize for going on like this. I guess this is my spot to voice my emotions on this. Because I have to always put on that brave face in front of my children. I know that Kevin has made such I great decision. I know my Heavenly Father will be with him and guide him. I just pray that as parents we have given him all the necessary tools to accomplish this Goal. And do the Lord's work.
This little note is to Kevin
Kevin,
I am so very proud of you. You have always been a great example to those around you. Kev, you have always brought joy into my life as your Mother. I feel so honored that you picked me to be your Mom. I can't begin to express my feeling. You have one of the biggest hearts I know. I know you will be an instrument in the Lord's kingdom. You are as strong as the young men, in whom Helamen speaks of in the scriptures. Remember, you are on the Lord's errand, and part of the Lord's Army. You have always had a strong desire to serve a mission. Never have you questioned it or doubted what you are supposed to do. I have watched you grow over the past year. I feel so blessed that you and I have had our special time together. I got to know you on an adult level. I will always cherish our Tuesdays and Thursdays. We had a lot of fun hanging out. I not sure there are too many Mom's that can say their College Son wanted to hang out together. You are my Hero. You are one of the strongest peopleI know that I am blessed to have in my life. I thank my Father in Heaven daily for blessing me so much. Thank you for being a wonderful son with a Big Heart. I love you,
Love, Mom
