Pole Vaulting Season
It is so much easier to watch your child have success and feel good about himself and the things he is doing. This season has been different, it has been difficult to watch Kyle struggle with feeling and thoughts about his abilities. He has gone through it all this year. The joy of success and the difficultly of defeat. We have had highs and lows this season. David and I have struggle with how to help him and motivate him along. It has been a lot of head games and getting him to realize that he should be in the tournaments that he has been placed in. He has struggled with being the only Sophomore there and feeling completely out of place. He was determined to grow and work hard and get through this season feeling like he is where he needs to be to compete. In the end I think he has grown as a person and in his ability. He has made friends with other pole vaulters from the surrounding areas. And although he has been kinda stuck in his height clearance. He has battled back and is going into league finals feeling more confident in what he can do. We are very proud of you Kyle. You have shown what you are made of and that you are not willing to settle or give in. I love you and although I wish I could protect you from everything and anything that could hurt you. Somethings in the end are good for you. Keep working hard and doing your best. We love you for who you are!
